Reset registry permissions repair failed
« on: August 28, 2016, 09:37:01 am »
I have problem with Security Center and Windows Firewall - their services are disabled after each new restart of system. I have to enable them and then start manually trough services.msc console. Bat after restart the same issue appears...

The issue is that after a reboot the registry settings revert back to their original settings!  I thought this might be in a group policy pushing down the settings - but I couldn't find it there.

I couldn't find it in a login script or startup script - and if I just simply log off and log on as different users the settings don't change - it's ONLY after a reboot.

After all virusses removal (windows defender, MBM, Hitman, RougeKiller, Esset Virus Scan) I tried the tweaking.com to repair the registry permissions, but that particulary repair always failed, even in Safe Mode! Strange is, that in Safe mode I can not modify the Registry Keys at all: I become a message
Error Editing Value - Cannot edit regkey_name: Error writing the values´s new contents.
The permission for this key but seems to be correct: I have Full access effective permissions...

Please have you any idea what wrong?

Something is keeping the repair from running.

Try running the repairs in Windows Safe Mode. (This will keep 3rd party programs from getting in the way of the repairs)
If the repairs still fail then please post in the Tweaking.com forums for support.

Open a Command Prompt (Admin) and see if these commands have any effect -

dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth (this one can appear to hang at 20% but will complete)

sfc /scannow

If the sfc /scannow reports corruption it is unable to repair, download/run SFCFix.exe from http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/sfcfix.html

This may fix what sfc /scannow is unable to but will produce its own report.

shutdown /r /t 00

This one will effect an immediate reboot.
