« on: July 07, 2016, 02:42:11 am »
Error message:
Quote
Path contains too long names and cannot be copied.

NTFS
Eg. 261-450 characters

How to find all the long path and manually edit, shorten?

TeraCopy Pro will give you a list of files that are over 255 characters. Bear in mind that this overload can be caused by the amount of folders the files may be nested in so it is not always the actual filename. Teracopy Pro, unlike the system copy/move function, will not stop this function but will carry on and at the end of the process will list the problem files with a red x to enable you to track and manually process them.

"Previous Version" (WINDOWS 7)
Code: [Select]
Network -> localhost -> X$ -> X Label (Date, Time) -> Folder (Date, time) -> more

You have not entered a message in response to my answer but to add to the TeraCopy Pro program I use it on Vista, W7, W8.1 and W10. Another program I have used in the past is LongPathTool but found I had to keep inputting the licence code. This program has been given a poor rating based on the crowd sourced WOT Web of Trust. I had purchased the program long before WOT came on the scene.

I do not use TeraCopy Pro! and other tools.
All such tools cause crash the shell,
  and cause a variety of problems,
and read huge DIR and copy a MANY small file much slower compared to the Explorer !!

I can only go by my own experiences and have not had any problems so I wish you the best in resolving your problem.

Windows creates too long path (Previous Version!)
