PUP.Optional.DeskBar Fixes
« on: June 19, 2016, 07:23:55 am »
Is there any way to NOT allow this program to install itself in my machine?  Malware finds it weekly at least twice.
Thanks.
P.S.:
Attached please find a snag of the find.
I am running W7 64bit professional OS.

Run a scan with AdwCleaner then follow up with a scan with Junkware Removal Tool.

You can find the link for JRT lower down http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

When AdwCleaner has finished its scan, it may list programs in the lower pane that it considers PuPs which you can uncheck for those you wish to keep.

Click on Logfile to see what else it has found and which will remove when you close the Notepad file and click on Cleaning.

That will produce another Notepad file after the reboot to show what it has removed.

JRT just runs and produces a report on completion.

Download and run FreeFixer and look for any related files to the named PuPs and they can be deleted by checking their boxes and click the Delete button when done.
