The EDGE problem occurs some time after the ms-tech was fiddling around to solve why Office 2016 needed run-as-administrator. The EDGE problem suddenly developed and while googling, I came across that EDGE problems may be caused by permission problems, and that Tweak could fix permissions problems. The fact that Tweak also fixed the run-as-administrator problem with Office 2016 was a bonus.
Anyways, here is what happened after running your suggested commands:
