SFC/Scannow Source file corruption
« on: May 25, 2016, 03:15:50 pm »
Hi gang, Just found this gem, and have a newbie question for anyone that can tell me what I'm asking about.

My SFC scannow does or Is not able to correct some files and I suspect after a LOT of investigations, that the SOURCE FILES that SFC is taking the data from has been corrupted.

My Question,
Does the Tweaking.com Windows Repair fix the corrupted SOURCE FILES that SFC uses ?

My system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Build 7601

I really hope it does!

Thanks for the time you're spending reading, and hopefully, and answering this newbie!
Aloha!

You could create a system image onto external media then run the program to see if it has been able to fix your system, but it would help to see what files the sfc was unable to repair.

Do another sfc /scannow then run SFCFix.exe from http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/sfcfix.html

This will produce its own report and may even be able to fix what sfc couldn't, but copy & paste its report anyway.
