Link power managementLink power management (LPM) is an energy-saving technique that helps SATA devices to save energy. Speed SATA device is set to the low power during idle time when no active I / O device or are missing or not used. The LPM automatically sets the SATA link to an active state power when the I / O requests are queued to that link and tasks are to be performed. The LPM is enabled by default for the controller and each connected device, the following requirements are met:■ SATA connection must be enabled in the BIOS to manage energy consumption.■ The system is restarted after joining SATA devices■ Configuration Management platform takes into account the function of the power link■ SSDs and hard drives support applications HIPM (Host-Initiated Power Management) and DIPM (Device-Initiated Link Power Management) To enable the management of power connection, do the following:1.
