One or more network protocols are missing in this computer (Solved)

I'm getting the error "One or more network protocols are missing in this computer" only when I try to access one website.  Access to all of the websites work fine.  I tried resetting the Winsock and several other various solutions I found on the Internet and none of them have helped.  I've also tried connecting via Wi-Fi and via cable and have the same problem.  The website in question is ATT.com.  Any ideas why am getting this error and how to correct it?

Normally when you get that error, it is the winsock but for it to just occur with one website, it could be a DNS issue.

You haven't said which version of Windows you are using, but this is for Win 7 which you may have to adapt for other versions.

Go Start - type ncpa.cpl and press enter.

Right click on whichever adapter you are using and select Properties - click on (TCP/IPv4) then on Properties.

Check the lower radio button for Use the following DNS server addresses and enter 8.8.8.8 in the upper row of boxes and 8.8.4.4 in the lower row.

Check the box to Validate settings upon exit - OK - Close and that will invoke the trouble shooter which should return no problems found.

You may also want to uncheck the box for (TCP/IPv6) as sometimes that can cause problems.

Thanks for the ideas but I'd tried most of them from previous information I had found on the web without success.  This morning I did some more searching and ended up fighting this website: http://www.tech-grounds.com/unidentifiednetworksolution which provides a very clean solution to resetting Winsocks and it solved my problem.

By the way, I use OpenDNS servers instead of the Google DNS servers.

Winsock and Winsock 2 must be a Win 10 thing.

Usually the cmd netsh winsock reset would reset the catalog, but glad you were able to find the solution.
