Windows repair safe mode -> blue screen

Hi,
with windows repair, I clicked on the button 'reboot to safe mode', which is recommended for best and faster results.
Now windows 7 won't start anymore, i got a blue screen after aswrvrt.sys is loading.

My windows 7 install cd won't work either, I'm unable to launch it. It seems like my cd reader doesn't read cd anymore.

Is there a way to correct this ?

I've emailed Shane about this should it be because of the WR program, but there can be other causes.

Work your way through this article, but if you don't have the option in the BIOS to reset it to defaults, then you will need to Google for the service manual for your computer in how to manually reset the CMOS as it may not be as simple as removing the CMOS battery.

Depending upon your make & model of computer, tapping F2 as you switch on (which the article doesn't mention) will get you into the BIOS.

Do not reset the default BIOS settings (does not make sense!)

1. Using Last Known Good Configuration F6 or F8
2. After starting the computer  Re-install Avast

aswrvrt.sys is the avast driver, it is causing the blue screen. I hope Avast has got that fixed, because not being able to go into safe mode is a big no no.
