Shane's useful software from some other link
« on: November 14, 2015, 10:00:31 pm »
Hi,
I found this site is also useful to have Shane's utility softwares.
http://www.planet-source-code.com/vb/scripts/BrowseCategoryOrSearchResults.asp?lngWId=1&blnAuthorSearch=TRUE&lngAuthorId=229351&strAuthorName=Shane%20Croft%20%28from%20psc%20cd%29&txtMaxNumberOfEntriesPerPage=25

Moreover, the site has so many programs that involves various computer languages, like vb etc. I think it is a very useful site for programmers to check with users in the site. It has got a lot of useful programs by Shane and others as well.
If anybody is benefited, then i will be happy. I got when i entered CS wallpaper in the search bar and i was shown this link.

The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

Hi, Shane,
It is a fluke visit to this website. It has your programs along with others. There are comments and reviews of using the programs.
How to execute the programs of the site. There is no exe or ms installer in that site. I know that it is a planners programming site.
Could not one execute the code from the site. It asks for membership for viewing the pages after 5 clicks. please
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

Old, old code :-)

I did that code back in 2000. So it is 16 years old almost lol

That site lost all their stuff a while back and had to restore from old data, but they lost all the submit dates and so they just used current dates.

Hi,
Shane, I genuinely searched for cs wallpaper in google search.
Think that the link i enclosed was a sharing of ideas between programmers of different languages.
That is a not a site of downloadable programs.
To Shane
an after thought: could not those executable. Not your programs but all other programs in the site?

That site isnt programs, it is code. Thus why its name is Planet Source code lol

It is where programmers can submit code to help other programmers learn.

My code on there is over 16 years old now and was when i was still a rookie.

Hi, Shane but wall paper design need to be only basic, changeable at times, addable, and removable. You would have built it for xp. But it even works in windows 7 ultimate without any problem . Your program says that it supports GIF format. But i have a doubt on that one. Because, you do not have any progressive bar to act as gif animation in the program. It just copies it as a jpg wall paper.
But other than that , the best wall paper i ever come across is yours. No harm, no pop up, no indirect link to the website to publish recent items from them, no indirect loading of wallpapers and no undue uses of cpu, some steals about 80 percent of cpu.
I like change of wall paper to give me a mood change. Because having one static wall paper does not show momentum. So, i copied so much nature wall paper which gives fillip and pep and prep for the mind.
Glad that you have moved the topic to general, where i could discuss matters not related to computers
I saw your provision of start at windows and minimize to tray in the advanced options. But they did not work. I just have a scheduled task at log on with higher permission . Now everything is ok.
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

That wall paper program was one of my first programs lol. yes it does support gifs as in you can set a gif as the background, it just isnt animated, but it still shows.

But in windows 7 and such you can select multiple wall papers and set the time you want to have it change. So Windows does having something close to that now.

Hi, Thanks for reponse. I am enjoying nature with one hour of change of walll paper. It works nicely.
The software would have been made for xp, but works for windows 7 also. Nice, no popup, external links, nice program.
I am writing this so that nature lovers would download the same and enjoy( like me, samson, .......boggins)

I wouldn't go to that extreme as I use the desktop icons and have the occasional need of Task Manager without having to look for it, although CTRL+ALT+DEL can bring it up.
