hi,w
shane, the cd dv drive is working on sata ports and i confirm that hard disk is not dead. It is new. I kno w that when i bought, it was ide supported. But later on sata supported.I mean that i bought it with ide cable connection. Now it is no more in use and i use sata cable which is working. why sata drivers are not supported in earlier systems. even in laptop, if i fail to disable sata in bios, i get bsod. But i do not know how to do this in pc bios. there are enhanced ,legacy settings. enhanced will enable all sata and pata ports. I fail to notice, why drivers are not there. It is a new hard disk with win seven on it. It is a kind of bricked. I tried fixmbr and fixboot in recovery option. But it fails in bootcfg rebuild command. It does not finish successfully.
how to change acbj mode to ide to atleast install win xp
shane, i know that if it fails in bios then it is not bootable. but why no drivers were installed in win 7 installation. i definitelly know that hdd is hale and healthy and spinning corrrectly. I tried new cable, but i still get reboot make sure that boot . device error message. i checked the ports with dvd drive on all ports and all are working. so,
i also notice that dvd drive has wires and it is connected with the hard disk. can i check by plugging this power in hdd I am learrning the wiring also now. could i use another power connection to check the power. since the hdd isspinning, i do hope that power is coming to the hdd. please. why then load drivers errors. in win 7 and set up cannot continue in xp. xp only shows the two pendrive storage in the opening screen. It is failing to show the hdd, as sata drivers are not found. I tried. the drivers in the links but i do not know how exe files could be made to work in installation stage. there is no floppy disc to try loading drivers.
