Hi,
I created some partitions in the boot windows. But if i want to create one more partition and assign a next alpha letter to it , how to do it. Suppose, i have c: as system, d and e are created ones, how to shrink the volume of E and create one more partition out of 160 gb of 80 gb each, without disturbing the Os and other space
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

You normally have to use 3rd party software for that.

but personally I never partition the drives, Mainly because their is no benefit to it. They are still on the same drive, so there is no performance to it and if the drive every has trouble and needs to be recovered the extra partitions make it a little harder.

Instead I just keep everything on the one drive and if I need the other drive, for either space or performance I always use a 2nd drive.

Hi, Shane, do you mean that you have only c: drive on your computer, would it not be difficult to store the files and folders in the operating system folder?

I just create folders on the root of the C: drive and keep my extra data there when needed. That way it is easy to find, or move and doesnt get mixed up with other folders.

Hi, Surprised by your answer. So, you have all your files/folders  in the root of C: , Are there no risk of loss of those important files, if your system drive c: is attacked or get corrupted somehow ?
May be you are lucky that you never allow program to do some mischief in c: drive. Perhaps a good idea to store in c: after second thought

No more at risk than being on the same drive but on a different partition. The drive dies and all the partitions go with it. This is why I normally always use a 2nd drive. but of course I also have my drives mirrored. So I actually have 4 hard drives in my system, but only C: and D: :-)
