A friend of mine made a new color preset for the programs. He likes this one far better than my default colors which are darker.

My eyes like darker colors as bright colors always strain my eyes, but he has trouble reading it and I have had other users say the same thing.

Both presets will be in the next updates of all the programs, but the question is, should I make it the new default colors for all the programs?

I have attached screen shots of 3 of my programs with the current default colors and the new colors.

What do all of you think? Make it the new default? (Remember both will be an option in the color settings)

I agree, your friend has done a good job. I know it is personal preference, but I prefer the lighter theme as the default.

Glad you like it. Now that I have the new colors in both programs, give them a try. I am trying to decide if I should change the default, or maybe instead offer a window that pops up on the first run of the programs that asks the user to chose their colors.

Hi Shane,

I think that if you change it to the new colour theme, then some users will want the original darker scheme. Swings and roundabouts really, you will always get a 50/50 split. So a user choice at first run would be a winner

Yeah I think the pop up on first run only is the way to go. I personally like the darker more because my eyes are sensitive to bright light. So you can see how there is no perfect color option to make everyone happy.

So better to make sure the users are aware they can change the colors
