scan stuck on repair #2
« on: November 14, 2014, 04:44:06 pm »
I'm running the repairs and it is still on repair #2 of 43 after 3 hours, is this normal?  It says:

2 - reset file permissions C:
C: & Sub Folders
Start 11/14/2014 4:32
Trying to run repair as trusted installer
this repair is hidden by windows itself
you can see this repair working in the task manager
running repair as trusted installer

When I go to task Mgr. I see Trusted installer but it says "stopped" , it doesn't say running.

I'm running windows 7, trying to repair what some sort of virus or malware that malware bytes isn't fixing.  Need to get this computer fixed asap as it's a work computer.  Virus is disguising itself as a visual suite 2020 file (?) and it  won't let me delete the files within the folder!!  Please help!!

The repair is running the file SetACL_64.exe (If your on 64 bit) from the files folder in the program, that is the exe that sets permissions, is it running in the task manger?

Apply the usual recipe in an attempt to solve this problem:
- Abort the program
- re-run the program but skip the repair (or drive) that gave you trouble.

Ok if you are running 32 bit then check to see if SetACL_32.exe is running during that time
