Registry Backup Error
« on: October 28, 2014, 09:32:45 pm »
I searched the site, but couldn't find any help.

had an update not agree with the system so I am trying to do a reg restore on my server 2008 machine.  I ran it from repair console and navigated to the folder just fine.

When I run the command I get "Couldn't find which drive is windows"  "refer to tweaking.com on what to do next".

Everything looks identical to the video.  my windows is on D and the RegBackup folder is in the root

Kinda stuck now.

Thank you

before anyone asks, yes I ran the backup before the update.  I've been using it for a couple months now.  I tried the latest backup first and then a couple others.  same error

The reg backup program makes a empty file inside the windows folder. So the bat file looks for the file so it knows what drive letter to use. If that file isnt found then you get the error that you did.

You could instead watch the video where I used ubuntu, booted off the cd or usb of ubnutu and simply copied and pasted the folders back where they needed to be.
