Loss of Genuine Microsoft status
« on: October 20, 2014, 12:51:46 pm »
Thank you, Tweaking.com! Microsoft suddenly started claiming my Toshiba C55-A's Window's 7 Home Premium I bought from Costco was not a Genuine Microsoft product, and refused to download updates. It tried to sell me on purchasing the system again for $109--which of course would have made mw reinstall all my programs and files. Microsoft  tech service had me reactivate successfully, but that did not help. They would not help without me paying $100 for their "unmatched" abilities. The Cosco Concierge's free tech service couldn't do anything. They have an agreement with Microsoft not to fiddle with the registers. I tried all the obvious fixes-- Avast, Malawarebites, Microsoft Fix-it, Microsoft registry repair---nothing helped. Googled "Windows Repair" and came across Tweacking.com. Followed the clear and user-friendly directions and setups, and now all is working right! Thank you, thank, thank you! I plan to donate soon.
