Tweaking.com - Technicians Toolbox (Development)
« on: October 13, 2014, 04:06:21 am »
The toolbox has become so large that I am making it be its own program called Tweaking.com - Technicians Toolbox.

The Windows Repair is automated tools, the toolbox will be the manual powerful tools.

Beta is almost ready, I am just writing a basic help file and then I will have the beta ready for users :-)

I actually had to scale back the amount of tools I was going to put in it when I realized how big it is getting lol.

But I plan on adding more and more tools in updates as time goes on. I also plan on writing a proper help file for the toolbox since it is so big i dont want users to get lost.

But I will be open to any new tool requests that are not repairs that belong in the toolbox :-) (Repairs will always be free and be in the main windows repair program)

The toolbox is a separate exe, the Windows Repair will still be like it is now, with a few pro features added to it, but other wise the same. the toolbox, because of the size of it and everything else will be a exe of its own, but the two programs will work together on certain things :-)

But remember, the PRO version is a "Paid For" version.

The toolbox will work with 10 yes, and if there is any odd bugs I will get them fixed. But so far windows 10 is just what 8 was suppose to have been so all the api calls and such work like normal :-)

Updated Screen shots :-)

Toolbox is about 90% done, still need to work on the windows user export and import tool, bulk user admin tool, Windows startup items tool, a cleaner tool and then settings and the help file (Yes I am actually going to have a proper, detailed help file with the toolbox lol)

Anyways here is screen shots from just a fraction of what I have done since the last screen shots. Hope you like what you see.

Hey Bud, it's been a while (out of town on long business trips ). I am glad to see you working on a pro version. I think you will get a lot of support for it. As a long time user of your products, I know I will. How long out before you go public with it (if your on any kind of schedule for it)?

Suggestion for the PRO version:
- Add an additional screen/pane that allows the user to select which steps in WR must be executed automatically.

Will the beta have all the pro stuff for so we can test and make sure it works before it goes final and then you have to pay for it?

Yes, I plan on making the beta just have a time limit in it during testing. :-)

2 new tools added today. Simple easy tools but have their need.

1st one, windows service that are allowed in safe mode. Not only can you add service to be allowed to run in safe mode (Say MSI installer so you can uninstall programs in safe mode) but this can be used to also remove malware services that put them selves to run in safe mode.

2nd, simple tool of mine that I improved. There has been a ton of times I needed to leave my system on for a while and have it shut down because I would be gone. This tool covers that.

Toolbox is now 95% done :-D

hi. Tweaking.com has failed to repair Windows 8 app store.

'The current repair has failed to start 6 times.
Something is keeping the repair from running.
Tweaking_ras.exe in the files folder is used to run the repairs under the system account, make sure your Antivirus isnt blocking it.
Please post in the Tweaking.com forums for support.'

I have disabled Norton 360 antivirus but still has not worked.
I have attached the logs from when it worked and the most recent.

ngomac, this thread has nothing to do with Windows repair support and has to do with the toolbox program being made for it. Please start a new proper thread and I will help you there

Updated the first post.

The program has become so big that I am making it a program all by itself, called Tweaking.com - Technicians Toolbox

I will have beta ready soon, program is done and ready for testing, just have to finish a basic help file. So a short time after thanksgiving I will have a beta ready for testing :-)
