Thermal Grease
« on: October 10, 2014, 10:41:08 am »
I have just been given an old DELL desktop. I have done a factory reset, updated the BIOS, drivers and Windows updates. All seems fine, it's not the greatest machine, but I'll make use of it

However it was probably the worst machine I've ever seen internally, spiders' webs and a warren of dust bunnies
I have carefully cleaned it out, had to remove the fan and heatsink, and now need to refit them. Does this thermal grease look OK? Or does anyone have any recommendations. I can get exactly the same product as shown below at Newegg for £3 in Maplins in the UK, or will I gain anything from spending a bit more? The reviews on Newegg seem pretty good. Thanks.

Samson.

Yeah that should work fine :-)

I always go with what the reviews say, always good to see what others had with it before you try it

Hi Shane,

Thanks for that. Reviews are always helpful, especially when it is a product that you (well, I) do not purchase everyday
I'll pick some up in the week.

Samson.
