(Solved) What is meant by Topic Unlocked

Hi,
       Today, i received some emails from this forum stating that some of the topic i raised has been unlocked by the admin. I do not know, what that does mean. Please say what is locked means also

Topics on the forum here auto lock after 30 days of no posts. When I was removing some mods yesterday I noticed I had it set to auto close the topics in the "User Submitted Tweaks & Guides" section.

Well I dont want them to auto close because users should be able to reply to them at any time. Threads where I am helping people I have auto lock so new users dont reply to an old thread.

So I went and unlocked all the topics in the "User Submitted Tweaks & Guides" section :-)
