New Hardware wizard
« on: April 24, 2014, 10:57:37 am »
I have an old HP compaq nx9010 running Windows XP Home edition v 2002 service pack 3,which I rarely use other than for my itunes.  When I turn it on lately a Windows New hardware wizard comes on saying new hardware has been detected when there is no new hardware on it.  How can I overcome this?
Thanks

When that pops up double click on the found new hardware icon in the system tray, it will open and should show what hardware it says it found, get a screen shot of that for me if you can :-)

Hi

I have attached a screenshot of how it looks when the laptop comes on.  When I click on the icon in the taskbar nothing happens and it disappears.

Thanks
Sue

I mean the icon by the clock that the message box is coming from, you should be able to open that, also you just put a check on that main window on the middle choice and hit next and let it try to find the drivers, if it doesnt it shouldnt ask you again and it should just show up as no drivers installed in the device manager :-)
