Minor clarification required on use of Windows Repair tool
« on: March 15, 2014, 02:10:01 pm »
Hi there,

I'm not sure of a couple of things.

1. In step 3 when I have inserted my Windows XP CD and after the step is complete, I am asked to restart Windows.  Do I keep the CD in the drive during reboot, or can I remove it first?

2.  After the completion of step 4, has any repair actually taken place, or do I need to select the next tab (Repair) to complete the process?

Thanks for your time.

The cd doesnt need to be in. the SFC is a built in Windows tool and after XP they made it so you dont need the cd any more.

As for the repairs you have to click start to open the repair Window where you can then select the repairs to run and then start them.
