Author Topic: Help with Windows (Read 17260 times)

After running All in one it did not fix 4 issues I had. #1- rebooting is slow, 2- when using administrator to run programs screen flickers. 3- recycle bin just hangs, and finally windows defender gives an error # OX800705b4.

Can you advise what I need to do.

That can be a ton of different things. Such as how many things are running in the background? They have to all be shut down, and drivers as well, a lot of time when shutdown gets stuck it is because a driver isnt unloading. This can also be true if a driver is taking for ever to unload. So number of programs and services running and drivers are the trick there.

That could be a video driver issues, perhaps even the cause of #1 as well

Download newer drivers, uninstall the old ones, reboot and then install the new ones.

Go tot he Windows defender folder and take a screen shot of the files int he folder for me and post it.

Thank you for the fast reply. I will try what you suggest for the 3 problems I listed but the 4 I don't think I can give you a copy because defender does not open. It gives me the error code.

No I mean a screen shot of the folder of the program, not the program itself

Open "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender" and take a screen shot for me.

When you ran my Windows Repair did you run the newest version and run all the repairs?

Hi: I don't have tat program. Now I have another problem

A message pop up telling me that my windows program was not authorized to call Microsoft for authorization, which I did, after entering authorization and rebooting I get a constant checking files system on "E" it runs in 3 stages. but at the end of step 3 it it tells me there is not enough space to do repairs. When I try to open disk "E" it just hangs, eventually it opens and it does show the space is full. I think all the problems are related to this. Can this be fix?.

If the E drive has bad sectors as well it will cause problems. There is a reason Windows wants to scan it, it must have found problems on it and wants to check it. If you are able try to delete some files from the E drive and let Windows scan it.

If you do have bad sectors you want to get your data off as soon as possible.

Hi:

The reason is scanning is because it has not finish the repair. Like I mention before it does it in 3 stages it fixes the 1st and 2nd stage when it gets to the 3rd stage which is "Security Descriptors" is creating index $SII for file 9. After it goes thru all the files it reports "insufficient disk space to correct errors in index $II of file 9. Then it finishes rebooting.

I don't know how to extend the volume of the drive when is full, so the scanning can finish. Drive C and Drive D have plenty of room.
Can I compress the drive if is possible?

Anyway you can just move some data off of the drive and then let Windows finish?

Hi:

I just want to report that I finally fix my problems with drive E. I did some research and found out it was the backups that were created by the program Tweaking.com for windows, it backed it up to the E drive without checking if there was enough space to do it.

So I delete all the files and reformat the drive and now my computer is perfect. I will back up my files to a flash drive to be safe and I will use this drive just for backing up pictures, music and special documents.

So I thank you for taking the time to help me with my issues.

Which program is that? The only type of backup program I offer right now is my Registry backup, and that should only take about 100 mb with a normal registry.

I dont have a normal backup program, thinking about making one though lol

Hi: Yes it was the registry backup program. Maybe it did it several times I really do't know. But after deleting it my system is running fast, all the folders are opening with no problems. Rebooting is perfect.

I will test the program one more time and see if the problem occurs again, if it does I will delete it from my system.

The backups are just files in folders, no running programs or anything

Normally it defaults to save the backups to the C: drive unless you changed it.

The backups are nothing more than a copy of the files.
