Hi,
@willy2 : You write:- In the "Repair Firewall" (pare-feu) WR tries to start/stop/manipulate three services. But of those three services two ("Mpssvc" & "BFE") don't exist in Win XP and that generates errors when this repair is run in XP.
So WR looks for a service that does not exst in XP ??
I don't care for Internet Explorer as I use FF.
@Shane and @Willy2
I get several system error 1060. After some research I found that this occurs when the name of the service is not written in quotation marks.
How to remedy that error ?
The error.log states:
Repair Volume Shadow Copy service:
start
running under current user account
the service has net been started.
additional help with error no NET HELPMSG 3521
Shane, you answer elsewhere: My reg backup program will wait for the VSS until it is ready or gives an error. If it never finishes then the VSS isnt working correctly. What you can do is in the reg backup program, go to settings, then advanced settings. There put a check on always use fallback method at the top.
So, this is the solution to the vss error ?
@Shane: The windows folder is c:\Windows
There is no interference with non-ascii caracters. Is it that what you meant ?
Thansk,
